About dnata and Dubai Airport Cargo Operations
dnata is one of the world’s largest air and travel services companies, operating across 130+ airports in 34 countries. As part of the Emirates Group, dnata handles ground operations, cargo, catering, and travel services for airlines worldwide.
Dubai Airport is one of the world’s busiest international aviation hubs — and dnata Cargo sits at the center of its freight movement. The cargo division manages the storage, handling, and processing of high volumes of international freight through Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC), operating around the clock under strict aviation regulatory and customs compliance standards.
For facilities and engineering professionals, managing infrastructure within an active cargo environment of this scale — where unplanned downtime directly affects airline SLAs and freight delivery commitments — is a career-defining level of responsibility.

What You Will Do
Your core mandate is ensuring dnata Cargo’s physical infrastructure operates at full capacity with zero tolerance for unplanned downtime. This spans warehouses, utilities, mechanical systems, and civil infrastructure across all dnata Cargo locations in Dubai.
You will build and enforce preventive and corrective maintenance frameworks that keep disruption to a minimum, and drive continuous improvement in asset reliability and resilience across the portfolio. Asset lifecycle management is central — you will lead the full journey from acquisition and commissioning through utilisation tracking and eventual disposal, using data and performance metrics to make informed decisions at every stage.
On the growth side, you will collaborate with dnata Technical Services on upgrades and system improvements, oversee the design and simulation of new warehouse and office facilities as the business expands, and use advanced modelling to drive layout optimisation and capacity planning. Day-to-day, you will also manage all facilities administration — airport passes, operational consumables, and support services — ensuring the operations team always has what it needs to function without interruption.

Honest Take on This Role
This is a genuinely demanding senior position. Eight years minimum in large industrial or cargo warehouse facilities is a hard requirement — not a guideline. The role spans engineering precision, logistics compliance, data-driven asset management, and multidisciplinary team leadership simultaneously. Candidates who only bring strong technical skills without the leadership and cargo regulatory dimension will struggle at the screening stage.
The closing date is 12th May 2026. If you are a qualified facilities engineering professional with cargo or large industrial warehouse experience — this needs to be your priority application today.

FAQ
Is an engineering degree strictly mandatory? Yes. A Bachelor’s degree or Honours in Engineering is a hard requirement. There is no stated alternative qualification pathway for this role.
Does the 8 years experience need to be in cargo specifically? Large industrial warehouse or cargo facility experience both qualify. However direct cargo terminal and airport facilities experience is the strongest match and will be prioritized during screening.
What is the difference between this role and a standard FM Manager role? The cargo environment adds a layer of complexity that standard facilities management roles do not carry — aviation regulatory compliance, airline SLA accountability, customs-sensitive storage requirements, and 24-hour operational uptime expectations. This is a specialist position, not a generalist FM role.
Is this role purely based at Dubai International Airport? The role covers all dnata Cargo operational locations in Dubai, which includes both DXB and DWC facilities. Expect to operate across multiple sites.
When is the closing date? 12th May 2026. This is urgent — submit your application today if you qualify.
